Privacy Policy
GeoBuzzr is a competitive geography game. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices available to you.
Information we collect
- Guest play: rounds, settings, and local scores can be kept in your browser. We do not need your name to let you play.
- Google sign-in: if you sign in, we receive the Google account identifier, verified email address, display name, and optional profile image needed to create your GeoBuzzr profile.
- Game activity: signed-in scores, correct-answer counts, game mode, daily-challenge date, display name, matchmaking tickets, and multiplayer match answers are stored to provide leaderboards and matches.
- Technical data: our hosting provider may process request logs, IP addresses, and basic device information for security, reliability, and abuse prevention.
Cookies and local storage
We use strictly necessary cookies for signed-in sessions, the private development area, and the Google sign-in state. Guest preferences and local scores may be stored in your browser's local storage. GeoBuzzr currently does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics cookies.
How we use information
We use information to authenticate accounts, save scores, operate matchmaking and leaderboards, prevent abuse, troubleshoot failures, and improve the game. We do not sell personal information and we do not currently serve behavioral advertising.
Service providers
GeoBuzzr uses Google for optional authentication, Railway for application hosting and database infrastructure, and Wikimedia Commons image delivery for some clue images. These providers process information only as needed to provide their services and under their own terms and privacy policies.
Retention and deletion
We keep account and game records while they are needed to operate profiles, scores, leaderboards, and matchmaking. You can request access, correction, or deletion of your account information by emailing privacy@geobuzzr.com. Please create or forward that address before public launch so requests are monitored.
Children
GeoBuzzr is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it.
